Shine On Me

As we come into the fall season it's important to note that virtually every designer sent sequins flying down the runways. You name it, it sparkled - hats, scarves, skirts, jackets and all. A long time fan of the sequin I've collected vintage and modern shimmery pieces for years. As a fashion obsessed who scampers at any chance to add to the wow factor, simply thrilled!

With any trend select the ones that work for you and mingle them among your existing wardrobe. Accessories are the easiest way to re-vamp your style and update a tired look. A tried and true can instantly become chic just by tying on a sequin scarf or a little black dress just became current by slipping into some flashy platform pumps! Besides, who couldn't use a little more sparkle in their life. Love me some sequins!

MY PICKS:

for the conservative dresser or the one that wants to update the office look this cardigan is subtle glamour. taking a classic and giving it some interest!

Imperfect Perfection: Chunky Pearl Necklaces

Pearls are back with a vengeance in the most modern and hard edged way. A new spin on grandmother's style, the current look is chunky, long or choker and mixed with lots of metal. Add instant glamour to your look and make people fall in love on sight.

Several designers featured layers of pearls, gold, silver and black. One can interpret this trend for yourself, feel free to DIY at home. Take inspiration and pile on the layers...the more tangled the better! This trend is not intended to be fancy but eye catching by day with a distressed tee and tuxedo jacket and jaw dropping by night with your little black dress. Imperfect perfection!

Trend To Try: Metallic

Metallic comes and goes in the fashion world but due to my love for all that is glamour my craving will never fade! When selecting trends to try choose those that work best for you. Just because something is walking it's way down the runway and finding itself in celebrities' closets doesn't always mean it works for you.

My belief is simple: invest in classic items that will transcend time, travel and trends. And don't spend very much on the trendy pieces and accessories that will come and go as quickly as a bad haircut!

Accessories are the easiest and often the least expensive way to liven up your look, stay on trend, add a splash of color or insert your personality into a basic wardrobe. Keep your basics timeless and trends...well just as they should be evolving!

MY PICKS:
a simple clutch to take you from day to night with little effort. I love the cross body strap, gives a fresh alternative to a black cross body bag whilst traveling. plus it matches everything in your closet!

totally glam with a boho-retro vibe...directly in my alley! don't be afraid of the multi-color it will just go with more and add a pop of pizazz to an otherwise boring outfit. mix with all of your jewel tones, leopard prints, yellows & anything else you would normally carry with brown.

the hobo is here to stay...this time around it's better in a metallic shade of silver. pair with all of your jeans, give some interest to your blacks & grays, and compliment all of your colors.

LARGE METALLIC LEATHER GALLERY HOBO $129.99 (SALE!)

this bag speaks to me because I love a good frame bag! the detailing of the bag made it a must-have for this fall. the color is soft yet staying on trend...it spoke not screamed. update your neutral bag.

METALLIC LARGE FRAME $163.90

wrap around all of your tunics, pair with dark denim and a white shirt this belt begs to be seen!

VINTAGE METAL PLATE BELT $60.00

this belt begs to make your maxi dresses more flattering, loop in high waisted denim for the perfect throwback to the 70s glamour girl. mix with a white shirt and cropped black jacket for a bit of edge.

SINGLE WRAP SKINNY BELT $29.50

retro glamour girl personified! so love this platform with bell bottom jeans and a black sequin tunic or tone it down with your LBD and matte black tights.

POUR LA VICTOIRE YNEZ OPEN TOE MARY JANE $210.00

rather than grabbing your usual brown boots this fall opt for this super stylish bronze metallic boot instead. skinny jeans tucked perfectly with a brown tunic and tortoise shell jewelry.
NANETTE LEPORE GOLD METALLIC BEWITCHING BOOTS $245.99

this has so many style elements...breathtaking! ruffles, peep toe bootie and it's in the perfect shade of pewter. go. find your LBD. vamp it up!
ELIZABETH AND JAMES LOLA $350.00

if you MUST wear flats. you MUST wear pointed toe flats. rounded ballet should stay in dance class and on girls under 12! lady like appeal with a pointed toe and the comfort of flats...bravo! hem check...don't walk on your denim or trousers.
DKNY ADA $195.00

just because it's fall the sun doesn't go on holiday and you still need a remarkable pair of sunnies. whether to be your personal do not disturb sign, hide last nights partying or just to glam up an outfit...a neutral shade of metallic gold will work magic every time!

every season I DIE for fun on jackets! call it my vice or obsession. the simplest way to make last year look current is by effortlessly tossing on a killer jacket. this. one. must. have.

for all of you craving a bit of edge this season...this jacket is spot on. dressed down with destructed denim and a white tank. shut it down with a little navy dress. D.I.E.

Cheap & Chic: Coats

Nothing makes me melt more than a chic coat! So, when I spied these from Forever21 I had to share! Fashion forward, designer inspired and effortlessly glam all at killer bargain.

MY PICKS:

not for the timid this trench will shut it down! totally see this paired with a red or yellow dress, black jeans or even dark trouser denim. perfect for those rainy days where everyone else is wearing black & gray!

military inspired looks ruled the runway, Balmain inspired this chic jacket would make a cute alternative to your typical black blazer. perfectly paired with a mini dress or a long tunic and jeans. be sure to keep proportions in balance = fitted on top + loose on bottom & vice versa

I DIE for anything fur! It just takes an otherwise boring outfit to another level. cropped styles worn with longer tunics & bell bottoms are my winter uniform! leopard print is always timeless always in style and the cropped styling makes it more modern. LOVE!

a MUST-HAVE for every wardrobe this fall this denim jacket is the perfect marriage of vintage appeal with a modern cut. toss on over a maxi dress, mini dress or skinny rolled trousers.

biker brigade looks were all over the runway for fall. I love the cropped style, exposed details and the unexpected neutral color. give black, brown or gray a lift with this winter white style.

fashion forward, ruffles and I love the vintage styling with the crinkled leather. leather always looks best when its been treated a little rough...you remember the bomber you had in high school what made it cool was the way you didn't baby it! the bronzy brown is so chic too!

Trend To Try: Purple

Reign in your royal goddess in one of this season's hottest shades: PURPLE!

Traditionally I love purple mixed with black...especially black patent. However, this season I've fallen for the unexpected contrasted with orange, yellow and silver.

Rarely do I wear color, so do as I say in this case rather than as I do. Punch up your fall wardrobe with the shade ranging from lilac to eggplant!

One of the easiest ways to vamp up your existing wardrobe is with chic accessories.

Trying trends can be a bit overwhelming (and costly) unless you make wise selections. Rather than purchasing purple skinny jeans or every ill fitted lilac top you spot to hang in your closet, limit your trendy items to accessories.

Not only will your basics get livened up but you'll be in the forefront of the fashion must-have moments!

MY PICKS:

this has all the elements for on-trend appeal from the cutout peep toe shootie to the purple suede. try mixing with tights to tone down the hue or wear with a LND (little navy dress) for an unexpected appeal

with a hint of a 60s vibe the large bow and sheer fabric make this a versatile top that will blend in with any of your wardrobe essentials trade out your basic white button down for this retro print

in love...LOVE with cocktail rings...total sucker for anything glamorous & gaudy so when I saw this ring with its eclectic mix of purple, gold & black....MUST HAVE
RINGS ECLECTIC PURPLE STONE & RHINESTONE $120.00

paired with anything from a classic white tee & jeans to a nude dress this necklace offers just the right amount of delicate elegance with a bit of edge

Marc Jacobs has long been a favorite of mine and I love the marriage of an on-trend color with the versatility. so rarely does function meet fashion!
MARC BY MARC JACOBS DR Q SHORTY ELECTRIC VIOLET $498.00

DIE...this little bauble is exquisite and I just melt. I love the way this would look on the hand during conversation or simply holding a glass. FABO!
KENNETH JAY LANE PURPLE RING $95.00

if you can only buy one piece of on-trend items this season I would recommend investing in a statement necklace. simply stunning with everything from your suit, LBD to a tee & jeans!
KENNETH JAY LANE PURPLE CRYSTAL BIB SHORT $285.99

simplest way to add a pop of color to an otherwise blah outfit...effortlessly toss on a scarf. so Katie Holmes and I just love it! instantly go from boring to BRAVO!
LIGHTWEIGHT TASSEL SCARF $34.50
